Back Home

Hi, all.   We are home!   This is the last Ware Two posting for our 2012-2013 "going South" trip.

We had an incredible time - it was everything we hoped it would be and more.

Many thanks to those who prayed for us - we so appreciate how God blessed us and "had our backs."  We were able to have a great trip and get home safely!

It's good to be back home with good friends and familiar surroundings.

Kitty Man (KM) made out well thanks to Thom and Terri and Joe and Liz.  KM really enjoyed his two good friends Gracie and new addition Jack.

Saint Augustine Fun

Hello to all from Brunswick, GA.  We met up here with some friends from Urbanna on Thistle - Ed and Mary Ann.

Below are pictures from our trip to Saint Augustine and our visit with Ashley and Rick there.  The four of us had a great time - we toured the city, wined and dined, relaxed on the boat, walked on the beach and enjoyed the wildlife.  Next year Katherine and Ted need to join us.

Ponce Inlet Lighthouse

Daytona Speedway Bridge (notice the manatees painted on the bridge supports)

Spanish outpost on Rattlesnake Island (no volunteers here for that duty)

Flagler College dining room (the college buildings used to be the Ponce de Leon luxury hotel)
Ash and Rick admiring the amazing room.   Picture does not do justice.

School time for the four of us.
Amazing rules!

Ash and Rick chilling on the flybridge (literally and figuratively as it was cool the first night)

Lunch at Anastasia Island beach front restaurant.

Rick and Ash getting ready to leave.
Bit of trivia for all:   Ponce de Leon's first name was Juan.  I always thought it was Ponce.   The initials it appears he used were  P de L.  Has a nice symmetry.

Regards to all,

Last Days in Vero Beach

Hello all from St. Augustine.  The last couple of weeks have been fun and busy.

Pat Davis visited for a full week in Vero.  We had a great time!   As I looked at the pictures, it appeared that Pat and I played and Bill worked on the boat! We relaxed on the sun deck, walked on the beach, shopped, went to yoga, went out to eat, visited our dockmates, saw Les Miserables (fabulous), relaxed, read and Pat did 48 crossword puzzles.

John Matheson was at his beautiful house in Vero and had us over for drinks and then we all went out for a fabulous dinner at Cobalt.  Petie hadn't come down yet and we missed her.

Larry and Jill Wilkinson were sadly in Vero for her mother's funeral but we got to go out to dinner with them also.

We left Vero this week and made our way to St. Augustine where we met Rick and Ashley.   The 4 of us had a blast in St. Augustine.  What a great town - so much to see.  We'll post the St. A. pics in the next update.

Love to all,
Bill and Ruth

Pat's first day in Vero.  She brought a little cool weather with her.

It warmed up.

The water was beautiful and warm.

Sad day.  Pat leaving.

Vero Beach Update

Hello from the Ware Two.  We are having a great time in Vero Beach! The weather has stayed pleasantly warm, we have found lots fun things to do, and met lots of nice people.  Our dock mates Jean and Tom (teaching us fun tips on healthy living), Merle and Barb (they stop at the Meekers' dock each summer), Don and Annie (from Mobjack), Jim and Marge (she knows all the best shopping sites), Bill and Patricia (he keeps the Ware Two Bill straight on his boat projects) and Pete (the Jack of All Trades on the dock) are a big part of our Vero Beach community.  Today we had our first rainy day since we left home (have had a little rain at night). Felt like we were at home.   We are looking forward to Pat's arrival on Saturday!!!!  Supposed to have a beautiful week next week for her stay.

On the Ware Two sun deck
We get to see lots of pelicans.
This little guy is hunkered down resting.

We got to see Gen and Kim Hahn when they were in Vero Beach for a week.
Manatees at Fort Pierce.  Bill says imagine trying to dock your boat!

Manatee coming up for air.

Seagull at the beach.

These birds are on the beach every day looking at the ocean.
Cheryl, are these Elegant Terns?

Here are some of those birds flying. We seldom see birds flying - usually they are relaxing, just looking at the ocean, watching people walk up and down the beach.  Bill says the birds go to VB to watch the ocean and see the people walk the beach.  They are very people friendly.
Love to all,
Bill and Ruth
